When Craig Smyth founded Clemleddy Construction in 1986 the Pocono Mountains’ second-home market was booming. People wanted to get away to rustic A-frames, mini-chalets, cabins and saltboxes. Today, the same generation that established the second-home haven around Lake Wallenpaupack are shifting priorities.
Clemleddy Construction specializes in converting what was once a tiny kitchen and living room with limited bedroom and closet space into a custom year-round residence featuring beautifully designed and spacious living areas, extra bedrooms and closets, upgraded heating and electric systems, and ample insulation.
The Clemleddy Team reveled in the challenge of transforming John and Dori Vallis’s treasured “little ‘ole A-frame” into the home of their dreams. “You listened and understood our vision,” says John. “We wanted to create a lodge feeling, complete with pine walled interiors, rustic stone and aged bronze trimmings. We still marvel at how beautiful your craftsmen’s work is. It’s truly the finest craftsmanship on the lake!”
With a primary residence two hours away from Lake Wallenpaupack, John and Dori also enjoyed Clemleddy’s unique web-based Project Journal. “Your weekly pictures and updates were very helpful. It enabled us to see progress along the way.”
